PERVERSE MONASTYR Radical Black Metal band
1999
The idea for Perverse Monastyr was born.
2000
At the end of 2000 year, members of Snow Bird (heavy metal) and The Devil (death/doom metal) – two bands from Bulgaria (Sandanski), during their rehearsals work also for a black metal project called Perverse Monastyr – melodic old-school black metal with satanic and misanthropic lyrics. After composing five songs and some time spent in rehearsals, the project remains with a single man – Arkhon Winters – the founder of Perverse Monastyr.
2001
In April 2001 the recordings of the first demo have begun – “Resurrection Of The Dark Age” (released in 2003 through AMF Productions & Vogort Zine), which because of difficulties last till the middle of January 2002. It has exclusively rough sound, but melodic guitar lines, an interesting mix of old-school black metal with some death and thrash touches.
2003
In 2003 a song, taken from “Resurrection Of The Dark Age” – “Lake Of Lost Souls” – was included in the cult Underground Black Metal compilation “We Worship...” vol. 1 (AMF Prod.). Near that time a cassette version of “Resurrection Of The Dark Age” and both the AMF Productions and Vogort Zine issues came out. Not long after its first produced demo, with a single member and three years in the deepest underground Perverse Monastyr ended its activities as a project...
2005
In August 2005, Arkhon decides to revive Perverse Monastyr, but this time the music won’t be melodic, just the other way – more rough and raw than before. The first album after about three year-break is “Five Years In Blindness”, containing six songs, recorded in “GFM” demo studio in honor of the fifth anniversary of Perverse Monastyr. The next month (September) the second album was recorded containing four songs, again extremely rough and unbalanced sound, but this time with Bulgarian lyrics. The name of the album is “The Circumcised Priest” (EP), the lyrics, as a whole, are about the priest’s moral, people’s aberration and the religious degradation in general. In December 2005 started the recordings of “War Against The Deceitful Religions” and Merciless Sgan Exekutor was attracted into the project as a vocalist. Again the lyrics are in Bulgarian with anti-religious messages exposing the three most infamous religions – the christianity, the islam and the judaism. Recorded in two studios – “GFM” and “After Many Funerals” home studio. The albums from 2005 – “Five Years In Blindness” and “The Circumcised Priest” were released by the underground label from russia “In Satan’s Honour Records”. These two releases from 2005 have been unleashed in limited edition tapes (150 copies) in the beginning of 2006.
